Cortland GR2 Fly 9' AFTM 6/7 - Review Finished in matt black with 2 guide rings, 8 single leg snake low friction running rings and low friction tip ring. The black ring tying's are well coated in a durable hard varnish. Fitted with a good quality cork full wells handle and composite and stainless steel reel fitting describes the product. Performance is equated in various ways when choosing a Fly rod, in 'casting' with a Weight Forward 6 Floater this GR2 is a 'Middle to Tip' action rod leaning slightly towards a more progressive action as the line was lengthened in testing . It is responsive yet forgiving in all Roll, Overhead, shoot of line without and with single and double haul techniques , Single Spey, Double Spey, Snake Roll. Performance in playing a fish was found to be very responsive using a small nymph on a 4 lb leader attached to an angry 2lb Rainbow. Performance equated to the 'casting arm' with crisp stops was again very forgiving and comfortable in use. A great piece of kit that does the job at an affordable price. Would I buy one ? I've got some and I use them on Small water Fisheries, Lakes and Rivers.
