Gwilym Hughes and Tony Scott are running three one-day courses in Flyfishing early this year at Chirk Fly Fishery, on Sunday 8th February, Sunday 22nd February and Sunday 7th March.
Chirk Fishery' can boast about the stocks of trout in the Lakes with fish of up to 10lb in weight, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Tiger Trout, Brook Trout, Golden Trout and some Blue Trout and is open all year except for Christmas day. Chirk Fishery is also a 'Satellite Centre' for the Salmon and Trout Association and 1st 4 Sport where courses are arranged and delivered in the 'Coaching of Angling'.
Gwilym is the only angler in history to have won International Championships in both river and lake disciplines .He writes for Flyfishing magazines and holds the A.P.G.A.I. qualification in Trout, Salmon and Flydressing. He is a licensed coach and has undertaken Child Protection and First aid training and has third party liability insurance. He is a course tutor for the 1st for Sport Certificate in Coaching Angling.


The courses that they run cover many aspects of Flyfishing. The day is spent learning about casting techniques, fishing methods, entomology and flytying.
Everybody will be made welcome, adults, children and ladies.
Gwilym and Tony make the day great fun and you learn a lot too.
All tackle and lunch are provided on the day.
The price is normally £35 per person per day, however for an introductory period, places are available for £25- or should you wish to book for all three days the cost will be £70.
Eye protection (sunglasses) head wear (baseball cap) and appropriate clothing for the weather should be brought with you.
