"Spiderware fusion is made of spectra fibres fused together
with a protective ghost green coating. The makers, Johnstone
Worldwide Associates, USA, provide a booklet with the Fusion
which states that Spectra is 10 - 12 times stronger than steel
and there is no decrease in breaking strain when knotted.
The spool I tried was 28lb B.S. with an equivalent diameter of
17lb mono. Initially when I removed the spool from the foil pack
I was worried about how springy the Fusion appeared. These
fears were quickly allayed first time out as the Fusion quickly
became limp and supple. The Fusion comes in 150 yards (137M)
spools and when I loaded up my ABU 6501-C3 multiplier I had
about 20 yards to spare.
For many these 20 spare yards may be consigned to a dark corner
never to see the light of day. If however you fish for carp like I do,
you'll no doubt fish combi-links. I've been landing a number of carp
using Krypton snakebite which at £13 for 20M isn't cheap. But for
making combis for people like me with banana hands, its childs
play - simply peel off the protective coating for the last inch or so
from the hook and hey presto - a combi link.
So whats all this got to do with Spiderware Fusion?
Snakebite and Fusion are remarkably similar. Peel off the protective
coating and you're in. Spooled up for pike and a season's supply
of combi-links in one go.
Whether you intend to use the Fusion solely for pike fishing or utilise
it to its full potential, it provides excellent value for money."

"Fancy a change from that boring old mono? Look no further.
Spectra Spiderwire, is a braided fishing line which is stronger
than steel yet as soft as silk. I've tried a few braids but
none have really come up with the goods as well as this one,
the 20lbs breaking strain version has the normal diameter of
6lbs mono!
I would highly recommend this braid for those of you who love
their bladed spinner fishing, because since the braid has near
zero stretch it enables you to kick those spinners into action
as soon as they hit the water (my number one choice for flying c's!).
The only word of caution that I can give you newcomers to the
world of braid is to remember to slacken that drag off a little,
the reason for this being because of the braid's non-stretch
make-up leaving the drag as tight as you did on normal mono
will rip the spinner out of the fish's mouth. Buy it, believe
you me you won't go back to mono!"

"I was initially worried about the feel of braid (dry & course)
but found it cast just as well as normal mono. The sensitivity is
fantastic. It makes the cheapest alarms good, and I caught a 27lb
Cat at Willow Bank in Lincolnshire on the 18th May 02. I checked
my rings and they had no cuts or scuffs. More than happy with this
stuff."
